At long last, Fuchsia went to a foster home today. We know it's been hard on her to be kenneled at Angels of Assisi. She's a high energy girl, and was happiest when her faithful dog walker companions came to take her out for a ride in the car and a stroll in the park. Tonight she'll be in a real home, with her own people and her own bed for the first time in years, if ever. As her outside scars heal, we wish her peace and a sense of belonging on the inside as well.
Meanwhile, her former owner, a police officer, is the focus of a lot of attention since his conviction of animal cruelty a few weeks ago. Be sure to visit the links here, here, here, and here. If you'd like to be a voice for the animals, the media is a great place to comment and share your opinion. Newspapers note the number of clicks stories receive so it is always a good idea to click on animal related stories -- and then forward them to your friends. Forwards and shares are also counted. This lets our newspapers and television stations know that animal welfare is an important issue, and they will likely cover them more frequently. It's also very important be professional and avoid snarkey comments, no matter how tempting!
As alway, thanks to Vickie Holt for the wonderful photo.
